My Journal App Is Finally Live
For a long time I wanted a place where I could write my thoughts, post small updates, and keep track of things happening in my life. Now I finally have it.
My own blogging website called Journal.
The interesting part is that the entire website was built by my friend
Nikola Filipovski from NFW Design Check out his portfolio here
And honestly, he deserves this first post.
I Had Zero Ideas 😅
When we first talked about the project, I realized something pretty quickly:
I had no real idea what I wanted.
No design ideas.
No layout ideas.
No feature ideas.
Basically I just said:
"I want something where I can write posts"
Nikola ended up designing everything himself, from the interface to the features, and somehow turned my vague idea into something much better than I imagined.
What the Journal website Can Do
He built a really beautiful blogging website with a full admin panel where I can easily write and manage posts.
But the coolest feature is the mood tracking system.
Every day I can:
- select what my mood is
- write a short note about the day
- store it in my calendar
On the homepage, the site shows the most common mood for the current month, which is a really nice touch.
Inside my admin panel I can also:
- view moods month by month
- check a calendar view
- click any specific day
- see the note and mood I left for that day
It’s honestly a great way to track how I'm feeling over time.
Great idea, king. 👑
He Even Hosted It For Me
Nikola didn’t just build the app.
He also:
- hosted the website for free
- created a bucket for uploads
- allowed me to upload images, videos, and audio files
Also completely free.
When he showed me the final result, I was honestly blown away.
That’s when I told him:
"My first post on this journal has to be about you."
So here we are.
The Price Actually Surprised Me
Out of curiosity I asked him what something like this would normally cost if I were a regular client.
He laughed and told me the price.
And honestly?
It's very affordable for a fully custom blogging website like this.
Of course the price would be a bit higher if you wanted:
- proper web hosting
- your own domain
But even then it’s still very reasonable for something like this.
If You Want Your Own Journal/Blogging website
If you're interested in having your own blogging or journal website, you should definitely Contact NFW Design - Nikola Filipovski
He clearly knows what he’s doing.
And if this website is anything to judge by, you’ll probably end up with something even better than what you imagined.
Update 08. April 2026
Today Nikola Filipovski (NFWDesign) Published newer version of my Journal Website.
Share options
New version includes possibility to share my blog posts easier with your friends and family on Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, X (Twitter) and Whatsapp or just easily to copy link just by clicking on copy link button.
Estimated Journey (Fun Fact)
This shows how many kilometers (Miles) have the data travel to reach you. Idea was from other friend of mine. I explained this idea to Nikola Filipovski and he said it's doable and fun idea but we won't be able to get exact data journey but anyways I sad make it as estimated Journey ( Fun Fact ) and there it is, you can find it at the very bottom of the page only on blog posts pages, for example you can see it In This Post
Admin panel updates
And for the end i got a little bit more possiblity in my post editor to write image captions and to mark pictures as priority if i need them to be preloaded, it's good for page speed loading told me Nikola and i believe him. Also i got some nice loading banners while page is loading.
Update 13. April 2026
New website address
We decided to move away from very long vercel subdomain to Nikola's subdomain, first of all because it's way shorter and easier to remember and second reason is because Google didn't want to index my website as it was on vercel free tier and those are mostly used for showcasing and spamming.
Google analytics
Google analytics were added to this website as well, therefore you'll see a cookie banner jumping at the bottom of your screen, I would be happy if you accept them so I can learn what type of posts you're reading the most and how long do you stay on my website, that would give me an approximate idea how to improve my website. If you accept them or not, either way Thank You! 🙂
Update 19. April 2026
SEO
Today my SEO was boosted a little bit more with schema.org schema for my website let's see how it will go, even though I can't complain how it was going before as there were nice amount of visitors for a new blogging website.
Moods
Added much more mood inputs then I had before, at the beginning I had like 10 mood inputs and now it's 28 moods which is 18 more then before. Of course if I get any ideas or needs it will be added 🙂
Post View Tracking
Now on every post we (You and me) can see how many times the post was open/loaded and it changes only once per visit/device/browser and I love it, it gives me much more real time data then Google analytics.
Stay up to date with my website and latest updates by visiting this Post from time to time
