About MindDump
Meet the person behind the Journal. Personal stories, honest thoughts, life experiences, and a little humour along the way.
Just a guy trying to figure out life, one story at a time.
Hey! I'm Serbian, a husband, and a father of two girls. I've lived in Serbia, spent some time in Malta, and eventually ended up in Germany. Three countries, different experiences, plenty of unexpected turns, and probably more plot twists than I originally signed up for.
If I had to describe myself in three words, I'd go with emotional, stubborn, and funny. At least I like to think I'm funny. Whether other people agree is a completely different story.
I tend to think a lot, sometimes more than necessary, feel things deeply, and occasionally use humour to deal with situations that probably aren't that funny. I'm not perfect, I don't pretend to be, and honestly, life would probably be pretty boring if I were.
So, Why Did I Start This Journal?
Well, there isn't some inspirational story behind it.
I simply needed an outlet.
A place where I could write whatever was on my mind, put my thoughts into words, talk about how I felt, and get a few things off my chest. No expectations, no particular audience, and definitely no master plan to become a blogger.
Initially, this was something just for me. A little corner of the internet where I could be completely honest without having to explain myself to anyone.
Over time, I noticed that people were actually reading my posts. Some found them interesting, some could relate to certain experiences, and some even took the time to share their thoughts.
That changed things a little.
What started as a personal outlet gradually became something I wanted to share with others, too. So now I write for myself, but also for anyone who happens to stumble across my Journal and finds something worth reading.
And no, I still don't have a content calendar for every aspect of my life. Some things just happen, and sometimes I feel like writing about them.
What Do I Write About?
Pretty much anything that catches my attention or becomes part of my life.
Family, fatherhood, relationships, personal experiences, everyday struggles, travel, technology, random observations, and probably a few things that don't fit into any sensible category.
I don't want to put this Journal in a box or limit myself to a particular niche. Life doesn't work that way, at least not mine.
One day I might write about something deeply personal, the next about a trip, a piece of technology, or something completely random. That's the beauty of having your own space. I get to decide what goes here.
Some posts will be serious, some reflective, others funny, and occasionally you might wonder why on earth I decided to write about that particular subject.
Fair question. I probably wondered the same thing at some point.
A Few Things About How I See Life
I'm a realist. I don't particularly enjoy sugarcoating things, pretending everything is wonderful, or looking for a positive lesson in every disappointing experience.
I've had my fair share of disappointments, and at some point, I stopped trying to make everything look better than it actually was.
Life doesn't always follow the plans we make. You can work hard, try to change yourself, improve your circumstances, and have a pretty clear idea of where you want to go. Then life comes along, changes a few things without asking for permission, and suddenly you're somewhere you never imagined you'd be.
Does that mean there's no point in trying? Of course not.
I still have dreams, plans, and things I want to achieve. I'm just not particularly interested in pretending that everything will work out exactly as planned.
Sometimes it does. Sometimes it doesn't. And sometimes you just have to laugh at the whole situation because what else are you supposed to do?
Why Am I Writing in English?
English isn't my first language, and that's actually one of the reasons I chose it.
Since moving to Germany, I haven't had as many opportunities to use English in everyday life. German has naturally become the language I use most, so writing in English gives me a reason to keep practising and avoid losing a skill I've spent years developing.
There's also the audience aspect. Writing in English allows people from different countries and backgrounds to find my stories, share their experiences, and perhaps recognise something familiar in them.
And that's something I genuinely enjoy.
It's funny how you can write something sitting at your desk in Germany, and someone on the other side of the world might read it and think, "Wait a minute, I've been through something similar."
That's one of the nicest things about the internet.
Anyway, That's Me.
I'm not here to teach anyone how to live, sell a perfect lifestyle, or pretend I've figured out the secret to happiness.
I'm just a person with experiences, opinions, hopes, frustrations, and occasionally questionable ideas. I write about things as I see them, sometimes with a little humour, sometimes with a more serious perspective, but always from my own point of view.
If something I write makes you think, smile, laugh, feel understood, or even disagree with me, that's perfectly fine.
You don't have to agree with everything I say. Actually, that would be a little boring.
So, have a look around, read something that catches your attention, and feel free to come back whenever you like.
Welcome to my Journal. I'm glad you're here.
