Quick intro:
Tumblr alternatives that are rarely discussed, especially when it comes to niche and adult-oriented communities.
I've noticed that people are still searching for Tumblr alternatives for NSFW-friendly platforms, so I decided to turn my experience into a short review post.
I’ve occasionally explored platforms where users can share and interact with user-generated content. Sometimes I shared my own content, sometimes just reposting someone else's content. That's when I did a little research about social networks where amateurs can share their content and/or enjoy other people work.
Over time, it became clear that it wasn’t really about the platforms themselves, but the habit of coming back to them without thinking. That kind of automatic scrolling made me question what I actually get out of it, if anything. I went a bit deeper into that thought process here:
Morning routine I don’t fully understand
While researching these platforms, I also noticed that not everyone is looking for social networks or content-sharing communities. Some people are simply interested in written stories and erotic fiction.
If that is more your style, I also wrote a separate article where I collected some of the most popular websites for reading erotic stories online.
Given those experiences and needs, here are some of my experiences and views:
1. Sharesome
Seems similar to what most people use(d) tumblr for: It functions as a content-sharing platform with a feed-based structure, where users can post and interact with images, GIFs, and other media. It has a twitter meets tumblr meets onlyfans vibe to it. I've been using it for almost 10 years now and i can say i loved it much more 3,4 years ago than today. There are a lot of cam girls and porn stars also there are Amateur content creators, but many of them have left in past 5 years when sharesome started pushing cam girls and paid content. But they are slowly coming back to what sharesome used to be before. The site looks polished and greatly built and relatively easy to use. User experience is ok, design is nice and clean and it works ok, it has some bugs, but nothing too wild and the developer team works on it. There are advertisements, also nothing too wild, usually while you scroll you'll se some NSFW related ads from time to time and also one advertisement in comments section, unless you pay for premium/ads free account, with premium account you'll have a tag "premium" next to your username in comments section and you'll be able to save posts in your favorite so you can find them easily. I find that pretty strange, paying to be able to save content in favorites, but ok... You can create topics, or apply to moderate another topics with another users. Worth mentioning is their flame token which you can use to promote your content or topics.
If you wanna take a peek, you can do it without even creating an account, but to be able to like, share, message, and upload content you'll need to create account and verify email address. To be able to upload content you'll need to verify yourself on website as content creator, verified star or Brand website, also you'll need to provide photo of yourself with face included and holding paper with code provided by sharesome and date.
2. Fetlife
If you're into kinky stuff, this thing is definitely for you. It has wide range of stuff from softcore to brutal BDSM. It is created for amateur content creators and it's purpose is for people to communicate, share stuff, create events online and in person, I'm not into meeting people but i can see others are really enjoying it. As a regular/free user you won't be able to see videos, so if you wanna watch videos you'll have to pay monthly and since Internet is flooded with videos I'm not interested into paying. The team that's behind the thing seem great though and doing a good job 😉
To be able to see anything but login page, you'll need to create an account and confirm email address, and for Fetlife that's enough and you can already start posting content. Welcome to the magic world of adult stuff 😈
3. Imaglr
Image coming soon
If you're looking for a real Tumblr twin, then this is the website you're looking for. It contains both SFW and NSFW content, but either way, if you'd like to see the content, you'll have to create an account first. Creating an account is pretty straightforward, just like on any other website: username, email, and password. After that step, you'll have four more steps.
* Step 1: Your date of birth (you have to be 18+), your gender, and whether you'd like to hide your DOB on your profile.
* Step 2: What type of content you're going to post and look for. The options are Safe Content Only and All Content (you have to be 18+).
* Step 3: An optional step. You can skip it if you don't know who to follow or don't know any usernames.
* Step 4: Finishing your profile. You can skip this step as well. Here, you'll have the option to upload a profile image and write your bio.
After these four steps, you'll be prompted to verify your email.
Once you click the verification button in the email, you'll come to the only annoying thing about this website: accepting the advertising consent. Yeah, I hate it. Somehow, they're making such a beautiful website a bit harder to navigate. Sometimes I have no idea if I'm looking at a post or an advertisement. From time to time, an advertisement will open over the whole screen on mobile, which is annoying, but hey, they also have to make some money to keep the website running.
But once you've finished all the settings and accepted the advertising consent, you'll enter a whole new world, a TUMBLR-like website.
There are quite a few options for setting up your feed, including how you want to see the images (full screen, grid, or other layouts), how profiles open when you click on a username in your feed, and many more. I'll leave those things for you to discover.
So, if I've got your attention, I can suggest one account to follow: JournalMindDump, and yeah, that's my account.
And finally, I definitely recommend this platform if you want to enjoy watching videos, GIFs, and photos from amateurs and studios, and eventually share whatever you want without limits.
4. Uplust
Think of it as an Instagram style platform for NSFW photos. It was even nicknamed “pornstagram” at one point. It is especially great if you are an amateur creator sharing your own content, but also if you enjoy browsing photos from real people and couples.
I have been using it for a while now and the community is surprisingly friendly and engaging, even though the site can feel a bit buggy at times. It works well as a Tumblr alternative, particularly for people who want to share their own content and connect with like minded users.
It is less suited for cam models or professional creators, since the platform leans more toward authentic and approachable everyday users, which is honestly part of its charm.
One interesting feature is the regular challenges they host. Each challenge selects up to three winners, one solo female creator, one solo male creator, and one couple. This adds a fun and interactive element to the platform and encourages people to participate more actively.
The interface is simple and easy to use, though it could use a more modern design update, at least in my opinion. To view content, you will need to create an account and confirm your email.
If you want to post your own content, verification is required. After requesting verification on the website, you will receive an email with a link. Through that link, you need to upload a photo of your upper body, your face does not have to be visible, while holding a piece of paper with your username and the current date written on it.
If you register through my invite link and complete the verification process, you will receive one month of free premium access.
5. Reddit
Reddit main purpose is not NSFW content, but it has so many great topics/blogs to enjoy hot stuff, also it is not mainly for Amateur content but it has quite a few amateur content creators that are sharing their amazing content. It is a little bit annoying to get to those posts, you need to allow NSFW content in your account settings, you also need to disable blurry NSFW Content if you wanna see NSFW content before clicking on blured images to see what's behind. And also i find it annoying that most of the times even with enabled NSFW content you still get a pop-up from time to time, randomly, to confirm you're 18+ and you wanna see NSFW content. Reddit is a huge website, and for basic usage purposes it is relatively easy to use and get used to. If you wanna create your own topic and moderate it, than be ready to spent some good time into setting it up and getting visitors.
To take a peek on Reddit you don't need account, you just need to click like 100 times that you're over 18 and you wanna see NSFW content, but to be able to interact with content and other users you'll need to create account.
After creating account you'll need ro verify your email address and you can join ro many topics. If you're planning to post content and make lots of comments and follow lots of users in first half an hour, don't. You'll get blocked and marked as bot and than fun starts...
6. Fetish
Fetish.com is often described as something like a Tinder style platform for BDSM, but instead of a classic “like” system, they use something called “spank”. To be honest, I never fully understood how the spank feature actually works or whether it works at all, since most interactions quickly lead to a prompt asking you to upgrade to Premium or VIP. In simple terms, without at least a Premium subscription, your chances of meaningful interaction are very limited.
The platform also includes a points system, but it feels unclear and not very transparent. For example, you can exchange 3000 points for 14 days of VIP membership or 1500 points for 14 days of Premium. Premium users can earn up to 50 points per day, while regular users seem to earn around 30, although I was never able to find an official confirmation of that limit. As a reference, after two months of daily usage, I managed to collect only 590 points, which makes the system feel quite slow and not very rewarding.
There is also a feature called Treasure Hunt, where stickers randomly appear across the website. You can click on them to collect them, but the overall purpose is not very clear. From what I noticed, collecting them can reward you with up to 50 points, but it does not significantly improve the overall experience.
The platform includes groups where users can join and share photos, videos, GIFs, and text posts. However, a lot of content requires age verification, and access to that is tied to paid memberships. VIP costs around 17€ per month, while Premium is about 10€ per month.
Fetish.com also mentions challenges similar to Uplust, but during my time using the platform, I have not encountered any active ones.
From a usability standpoint, the website does not feel very modern or optimized. It is not particularly mobile friendly, navigation can be confusing, and performance is sometimes slow even with a stable internet connection. Overall, it gives the impression of an outdated platform.
After about two months of using it daily, my personal experience has been disappointing. I did not find it engaging, there was very little real interaction, and it never really felt worth the time. I will most likely delete my account soon.
7. AdultFriendFinder
I don't have pictures of this website as it's useless. I wouldn't even mention it, but some of you might find it helpful to save your time and nerves.
I tried it and personally it's useless, every single action of this website is hidden behind paywall, wou you like to see photos of any user? Pay for it. Would you like to add any user to your friend list? Pay for it. Basically anything you can think of is behind paywall. Only thing you can use is to watch live cams from users who allowed not-payed users to see them but even there there is a tricky part, lot's of dudes are wankig in front of camera even if you choose to see girls and/or couples.
After i did a test of this website, i wanted to delete my account, as I'm definitely not going to use it anymore, it was a real nightmare. On phones i couldn't even find a way to delete account and on PC i managed to find it after 5 minutes of clicking through website.
In my experience this website is definitely not recommended to be used as you can find many other websites where you can watch live cams way easier.
If you're ready to spit 10$ on gold membership for who knows what, then you can test it out better than i did.
Looking for Erotic Stories Instead of Social Platforms?
Before finishing this article, I also want to mention that adult content is not only about social platforms and communities. Some people prefer storytelling, imagination, and written experiences instead.
For those readers, I created a separate list of erotic fiction platforms and adult story websites.
Closure
Each platform has its own strengths and weaknesses. This post reflects only my personal experience using them over time. If you're exploring alternatives, it's worth trying a few and seeing what fits your preferences best.
I may update this post in the future if I come across other platforms worth mentioning, so keep an eye on this post. Until next time 🙂
